As week 4 rolls around work continues in the kitchen and bathrooms. The painter is priming most of the walls. The main work continues outside on taking down the siding for repair on the foundation. They have found a lot of rot under the siding. For now we were just going to reside the front of the house in cedar shingles but now it looks like we may have to check everywhere for rot damage. I am going to do a post next week on the exterior work and plans for the house, so more at that point.
The way our house is laid out there are two bedrooms on one end of the house and one bedroom and the kitchen on the other side of the house. In the middle is a the living room and where we will also be dining. The room has 2 large sliding glass doors on the back side leading to the patio and a fireplace, window and front door on the other side. The window looks out to a pond across the street.
In this part of the house there are a couple of things that had to happen. One, we need a place to eat and secondly, we need a sitting area. The room is large enough for both to happen in designated places.
Here are some of ideas for the living and dining area. The couch is from Ikea is will be a little darker.
I love this photo above from Serena and Lily. The gallery art wall has so many types of art, colors and varying frames but works without looking like a mess. We have two large walls I need to find either large pieces of art or do gallery walls. This is a good inspiration photo.
